On Tuesday, the Kilauea volcano on Hawaii’s Big Island started ejecting lava into the air once more.
Since it erupted on December 23, Kilauea, one of the most active volcanoes in the world, has been erupting intermittently for almost two months. Within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, the eruption has been occurring at the top crater of the volcano. Lava has not threatened any residential areas.
Lava flowed onto the Halemaumau Crater floor at 10:16 a.m., marking the start of the most recent eruption of molten rock. About 330 feet (100 meters) of lava were ejected from a vent 30 minutes later.

According to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, this is the seventh eruption since December 23. With breaks in between, previous episodes have lasted anywhere from 13 hours to eight days.
For views of the eruption, people have been swarming to overlook locations within the national park.
Southeast of Honolulu, Kilauea is roughly 200 miles (320 kilometers).
