Given the significant impact we know it will have on our team members, our customers, and all of the communities we serve, this was a very tough decision to make, a Joann representative told CNN.
In the United States, Joann now runs over 800 locations.
Weeks after the company declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time in less than a year, the news was made. The business declared in January that it was looking for a buyer as part of the bankruptcy process. According to CNN, prospective bidders found a list of underperforming stores that were unlikely to be included in any offers.
In March 2024, Joann filed for bankruptcy, but a month later, the firm reemerge as a private one.
