On Thursday morning, as Portlanders awoke to strong winds, snow, and the possibility of freezing rain, red letters began to illuminate the departures board at Portland International Airport.
Twelve planes had been canceled and 39 more had been delayed at PDX as of 10:40 a.m., but the airport denied any fears that it may close on Thursday morning.
