At 1:37 p.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service issued an updated high wind warning for the Grande Ronde Valley that would last until 10 p.m.
Adding, “South to southeast winds 20 to 40 mph with gusts of 40 to 60 mph,” the weather agency says. “The combination of strong winds, blowing and drifting snow, and ongoing snowfall is expected to periodically reduce visibilities to one-half mile or less through this afternoon.”
The weather service notes, “Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” “Keep an eye out for tree limbs, fallen debris, and locations where snow is blowing and drifting. If you have to drive, exercise caution.
