Continued snowfall closes government offices, shutters services, cancels events Friday

In the Portland/Vancouver area, waste collection is being postponed, county and local offices are closing, and medical professionals are working remotely on Friday due to the second day of winter weather.

Early on Friday, roadways and roads were relatively quiet due to public transportation delays and generally closed schools. Around 10 a.m., forecasters predicted another 1 to 3 inches of snowfall.

Portland, Salem, Tualatin, Beaverton, Happy Valley, Clark and Multnomah counties, and other county and city offices closed their buildings on Friday. The majority of local courts were likewise shut down.
