(UPDATE: In his OSU debut, left-hander Ethan Kleinschmit pitched six no-hit innings as the Beavers trounced Indiana 6-0.A summary can be found here.)
Sunday’s NCAA baseball game between the No. 7 Oregon State Beavers and the Indiana Hoosiers will take place at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Arizona.
Eleven a.m. is the scheduled time for the first pitch.
The Beavers (2-0), who have started the season with two strong wins, are playing the third game of a four-game series.
After hitting three late-game home runs to seal a comeback victory over Xavierin University the season opener, Oregon State dominated UNLV in its final game, defeating the UNLV 16-0 thanks to a spectacular freshman Dax Whitney debut and an offensive outburst.
It appeared that Indiana would present the Beavers with their most difficult challenge of the weekend going into the four-team round robin event. Coaches projected the Hoosiers to finish third in the Big Ten Conference, behind Nebraska and Oregon, going into the season. Devin Taylor, a junior outfielder who was selected to the Golden Spikes Award preseason watch list, is one of the finest players in the country.
However, the Hoosiers have lost two close games in Surprise: 8-6 in 10 innings against Xavier on Saturday night and 4-2 against UNLV in the first game.
