Update: Special weather statement affecting Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon and Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon until early Monday morning

On Sunday at 11:32 p.m., the National Weather Service issued an updated special weather statement for the Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon and the Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon, which will remain in force until Monday at 5 a.m.

“Until early Monday morning, showers and sporadic freezing rain will persist throughout the Blue Mountain Foothills and the Lower Columbia Basin. Drivers can anticipate black ice on the roads because the temperature is in the lower 30s. The weather service advises staying away from cruise control and keeping a safe driving distance.
