Colombian superstar Shakira cancels her concert in Lima after being hospitalized

After being admitted to the hospital due to an abdominal ailment, Colombian diva Shakira announced that she would not be performing in Lima on Sunday.

On Sunday afternoon, Shakira posted a message on her Instagram and X pages, stating that she is presently in the hospital and that doctors have told her she is not well enough to perform.

That I won’t be able to take the stage today makes me very sad. “Reuniting with my beloved Peruvian audience has been incredibly emotional and exciting,” she remarked.

The musician was supposed to perform on Sunday and Monday after arriving in Peru on Friday night. After spending two nights in Brazil last week, the nation is the second stop on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour of Latin America.

Shakira has been warmly received by Latin fans, who have gathered in large numbers at airports to welcome her. Lima, thank you for the heartfelt greeting! She shared something on Instagram on Saturday.

Shakira expressed her desire for a speedy recovery in her statement. I intend to put on this show as soon as I can. “A new date is already being worked on by my team and the promoter,” she stated.

The singer is currently on tour to promote her most recent album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, on which she uses music to cope with her well-publicized divorce. The album won Best Latin Pop Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards earlier this month and included the worldwide smash Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.

Before traveling to Canada and the United States in May for a run of shows that will go until June, Shakira’s tour is still going strong throughout Latin America.
