Prosecutors said Wednesday that authorities suspect a 51-year-old man stabbed a lady who was discovered dead on New Year’s Eve in Wilsonville while trying to rob her.
Jason David Perillo was charged by a Clackamas County grand jury on Tuesday with first-degree robbery and second-degree murder in connection with the death of 41-year-old Catherine Grace Crosse.
In a press statement, prosecutors said that Perillo and Crosse were friends and that police were able to identify Perillo thanks to security footage.
Around 7 p.m., Crosse was discovered dead inside a recreational vehicle by the sheriff’s office. She died by homicide, according to an autopsy. Perillo was taken into custody on February 7.
He is charged with first-degree murder because, according to the indictment, he killed Crosse while either performing or attempting to commit a robbery. However, prosecutors have not disclosed much information regarding the circumstances surrounding her death.
Perillo is still being held without bail at the Clackamas County Jail. If found guilty of first-degree murder, he could get a sentence of either life in prison without the possibility of parole or life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years.
