Now is the moment to begin discussing secession. Plans to leave the United States and form a new organization or join Canada should be addressed instead of caving in to President Donald Trump’s dictatorship. With the premise that such a plan would be enacted if the House and Senate stay in Republican control following the 2026 midterm election, this prospect should be extensively publicized.
The governors of a number of blue states have already started organizing strategies to make their states more resistant to Trump, but this initiative needs to be broadened to take secession into account.
