Rylee McCoy, No. 19 Oregon softball rout No. 22 Missouri

It was Oregon’s third victory over a ranked opponent, capping a 5-0 weekend at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

On Saturday morning in Cathedral City, California, Rylee McCoy led the No. 19 Ducks to an 11-3 victory over No. 22 Missouri, going 2 for 4 with two home runs and four RBIs.

Lyndsey Grein (9-0) relieved the Ducks for 4.2 innings, giving up one hit, four walks, and eight strikeouts.

For the first time since 2020, Oregon achieved a flawless weekend in the neutral site event, with home runs from Katie Flannery (three RBIs), Stefini Maake, and Emma Cox.

In the second, Flannery added a solo drive and Cox hit a two-run home run.

With consecutive home runs from McCoy and Maake, an RBI single from Kedre Luschar, and a two-run single from Flannery, Oregon (15-1) scored five more runs in the third.

The day ended for Elise Sokolsky, who gave up three runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 2.1 innings, when Kara Daly blasted a three-run home slam in the bottom of the third to put Missouri (8-8) on the board.

McCoy added a three-run home drive in the seventh inning, and Grein stopped the Tigers from scoring the rest of the way.

Oregon’s home opener versus Portland State and San Diego is scheduled for Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Jane Sanders Stadium in Eugene.
