At the OSAA Class 4A/3A/2A/1A swimming state championships on Saturday, no one touched Catlin Gabel.
Both the boys’ and girls’ team titles were easily won by the Eagles at the Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center.
The boys’ squad led by Catlin Gabel finished with 87 points, almost twice as many as Sweet Home, who came in second (44). With 29 points, Valley Catholic came in third.
Adam Li, a senior, took first place in the 200-yard individual medley in 1 minute, 54.59 seconds, earning the Eagles their first gold. Later on, he finished in 50.07 seconds to win gold in the 100-yard butterfly.
After Carson Rotter, Ethan Thomas, Kenny Ma, and Li finished in 1:30.85, the Eagles won the 200-yard freestyle relay. Additionally, the 400-yard freestyle relay was won by the Li, Ma, Coe Dauler, and Rotter team at 3:19.02.
Ben Hurty, Ivan Farias, Jahan Eibner, and Connor Brown of Newport won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:42.75. Hurty finished first with a time of 48.36 in the 100-yard freestyle as well. Hurty finished in 54.28 seconds to win the 100-yard backstroke as well.
In 1:42.25, Zane Ricker of La Grande won the 200-yard freestyle. In 4:37.65, he also won the 500-yard freestyle.
Finn Bizzell of Astoria won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.01.
Lucas Brandt of Philadelphia won the 100-yard breaststroke in 59.73.

The Catlin Gabel girls had 70 team points at the end.
Tia Chakrapani, a sophomore for the Eagles, won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:10.62. She finished in 59.95 seconds to win the gold in the 100-yard butterfly as well.
Summer Whittle, a freshman, won the 100-yard backstroke in 59.6 seconds and the 50-yard freestyle in 24.73 seconds.
The 200-yard medley relay was won by the Addi Dauler, Whittle, Chakrapani, and Xinyu Luo team in 1:54.57.
Whittle, Chloe Moreau, Jane Hanson, and Dauler finished first in 1:43.67, while Catlin Gabel also won the 200-yard freestyle relay. Additionally, the 400-yard freestyle relay was won by the Moreau, Dauler, Hanson, and Chakrapani team at 3:48.99.
With 47 points, Newport, the current state champions, finished in second place. With 30 points, La Grande came in third.
Becca Koza of Cove won both the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyles in 52.84 and 1:55.39, respectively.
Khloe Sautel, a freshman at Sweet Home, finished in 5:21.50 to win the 500-yard freestyle. Kirsten Sautel, a teammate, finished in 1:04.98 to win the 100-yard breaststroke.
