The National Weather Service issued a strong wind warning for the Clatsop County Coast, Tillamook County Coast, Central Coast of Oregon, North Oregon Coast Range, and Central Oregon Coast Range on Sunday at 1:52 p.m. The warning was in effect from Monday at 7 a.m. to Tuesday at 4 a.m.
“South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected,” the weather service informs us. “While the beaches and headlands will experience the strongest gusts, elevations above 1000 feet in the Coast Range too will experience gusts greater than 55 mph.”
Trees and electricity wires will be toppled by damaging winds. There could be widespread power disruptions. Travel will be challenging, particularly for well-known cars, the weather service said.
