Wind advisory affecting Lower Columbia River Monday and Tuesday

At 6:38 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the Lower Columbia River that would be in effect from Monday at noon until Tuesday at 4 a.m.

“South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected,” the weather service says. “On Monday, the peak wind speed period will take place after 6 p.m. There is a 50–60% chance of wind gusts surpassing 45 mph.

“Unsecured objects will be buffeted by gusty gusts. The weather agency says that there may be a few power disruptions and the possibility of tree branches being blown down. “Be extremely careful when driving, particularly if you’re in a prominent car. Things that can easily blow around outside, such trash cans, should be secured.
