In the Tualatin Valley, West Hills and Chehalem Mountains, Inner Portland Metro, East Portland Metro, Outer Southeast Portland Metro, West Central Willamette Valley, East Central Willamette Valley, Benton County Lowlands, Linn County Lowlands, and Lane County Lowlands, the National Weather Service issued an updated wind advisory on Sunday at 6:38 p.m. that would be in effect from Monday noon until Tuesday at 4 a.m.
“South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected,” the weather service says. “Monday after 4 p.m. is when wind speeds will be at their peak, particularly in the Central Willamette Valley. There is a 50–60% chance of wind gusts surpassing 45 mph.
“Unsecured objects will be buffeted by gusty gusts. According to the weather service, there may be a few power outages and tree branches that are blown down. “Be extremely careful when driving, particularly if you’re in a prominent car. Things that can easily blow around outside, such trash cans, should be secured.
