LA Chargers discussing re-signing former Oregon linebacker Troy Dye following career season

The city of Indianapolis After a stellar season, the Los Angeles Chargers are considering re-signing linebacker Troy Dye.

During the regular season, the former Oregon linebacker recorded a career-high 57 tackles with 1.5 sacks, and during the Chargers’ playoff run, he recorded eight tackles and a pass breakup.

Last offseason, Dye, 29, agreed to a one-year deal worth around $1.8 million. The Chargers have 26 unrestricted free agents this offseason, and both general manager Joe Horitz and coach Jim Harbaugh have stated that they would like to keep as many of them as possible.

Horitz stated that talks are being held with each of them, but he was unsure if he would call any re-signing close as of Tuesday. The team is talking about re-signing Dye, who will start his sixth season in 2025, according to a league source.

Horitz stated during the NFL combine, “I’m with coach, I loved our group of guys last year.” The team was unique. You could sense it out there, and it was fantastic to be a part of. It was a lot of fun, and yes, we would love to have them all return. Is that possible? I’m not sure if it is. We’re going to try, but Coach is unsure.
