The appearance of Stumptown, which came in at number 52, wasn’t shocking. Michael Russell, our dining critic, has long been a fan, and a research website that considered expert opinions declared Stumptown the best coffee in the nation in 2023.
Originally located on Southeast Division Street, Stumptown Coffee Roasters currently has five stores in Portland, three in New York, one in Los Angeles, and one in Japan.
At number four on the list, Portlanders can also savor Australia’s Proud Mary Coffee.In 2017, the cafe-meets-restaurant from Melbourne opened a location on Northeast Alberta Street.In addition to serving excellent coffee, Proud Mary is a deserving brunch spot.
