As the Arizona-based chipmaker reduces expenses in reaction to a steep drop in sales, Onsemi announced this week that it intends to fire roughly 9% of its employees by the end of the year.
The corporation did not reveal the impact of the impending cuts on its Gresham factory, which employs roughly 600 people.
