Delta Airlines jet flips over upon landing at Toronto airport

TORONTO At least eight people are hurt, according to paramedics, when a Delta Airlines plane overturned on Monday while it was landing at Toronto’s Pearson Airport.

According to the Canadian Press, seven passengers were hurt on the trip, and one is in critical condition. Social media users shared pictures of the plane flipping over on the tarmac.

On Monday afternoon local time, a landing problem occurred on the Delta flight as it was arriving from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Around 2:00 PM on Monday, images and videos of a passenger plane upside down on the runway at Toronto Pearson International Airport started making the rounds on the social media site X.

The airport verified on X that all passengers and staff members are safe after an incident involving the Delta flight from Minneapolis. As emergency personnel hosed the plane down, footage from the site showed it upside down on the icy tarmac.

In a post on the social media site X, the airport stated that emergency personnel were responding. Every crew member and passenger is present.

On Monday, a Delta representative was not immediately available for comment.

In a statement posted on X, the Association of Flight Attendants—CWA—stated that its union members were responding to the accident.

In response to an incident involving Delta Air Lines Endeavour Flight 4819 in Toronto, our union is taking action. This flight was operated by the AFA crew. There are reportedly no fatalities. As everyone tries to learn more and assist those impacted, kindly refrain from making assumptions about this incident.

Up to eight individuals were hurt, according to TV sources, but the number of injuries was not specified.
