The National Weather Service issued a high wind warning for the Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon on Wednesday at 2:22 p.m., which was in effect from 10 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday.
The National Weather Service states, “Southeast winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts between 50 and 60 mph expected for the base of the northern Blue Mountains of Oregon.”
Trees and electricity wires will be toppled by damaging winds. There will likely be widespread power outages. The weather agency warns that travel will be challenging, particularly for cars with a lot of visibility. “Avoid windows during the windstorm and stay in the lower floors of your house. Keep an eye out for tree limbs and other debris. If you have to drive, exercise caution.
