Friday Night Hoops: Cooper Falls Short, Sweetwater Stays Perfect in District Play

ABILENE, Texas (BCH Sports) – Here’s your recap from Friday night’s high school basketball action:

Cooper Cougars Fall to Wichita Falls Legacy in Defensive Battle

The Cooper Boys Basketball Team suffered a heartbreaking loss to Wichita Falls Legacy, 30-27, in a tightly contested, low-scoring game.

The Cougars led for most of the game, but a late surge by the Leopards proved decisive, allowing them to steal the win. This defeat keeps Cooper winless in district play, a streak they will aim to break in their next matchup.

Cooper hosts Wylie on Tuesday night at 7:30 PM, providing a chance for redemption on their home court.

Sweetwater Stays Undefeated in District Play with Victory Over Clyde

Meanwhile, over in Clyde, the Bulldogs faced off against the red-hot Sweetwater Mustangs, who entered the game riding a perfect 5-0 district record.

Sweetwater extended their streak to 6-0 with a hard-fought 43-39 road win. Despite being only one game above .500 overall, the Mustangs sit firmly atop the district standings, thanks to their stellar district performance.

Sweetwater looks to maintain their unbeaten district record as they host Wall this Tuesday at 7:15 PM.
