Luka Doncic out for Lakers at Blazers, LeBron James is available

Update: LeBron James is free to play against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night.

Luka Doncic, the standout guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, will not play against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night.

Initially labeled as questionable for the 7 p.m. game at the Moda Center, LeBron James is now available.

On Wednesday night, the Charlotte Hornets (14-39) defeated the Lakers (32-21) 100-97 at home.

Due to the same left calf ailment that kept him out of action with Dallas before to his trade to Los Angeles, the Lakers chose to keep Doncic out as part of their injury management strategy.

James was supposed to participate despite dealing with a foot issue as well.

Robert Williams III (right knee discomfort), Scoot Henderson (right ankle sprain), and Jerami Grant (right knee soreness) are available for the Blazers (23–32).

But Tuesday and Wednesday were full practice days for all three.
