In rural Washington County, a man lost his life early on Thursday when his vehicle struck a semi-truck.
Around 4 a.m., Daniel Pfeiffer, 62, collided with the truck at the intersection of Elsinore Lane and Southwest Bald Peak Road, according to a statement from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
According to officials, Pfeiffer was found dead at the site when sheriff’s deputies arrived. Pfeiffer was traveling east when he collided with a westbound semi-truck that was backing into Southwest Elsinore Lane, according to deputies.
No proof that drunkenness contributed to the collision was discovered by investigators.
According to officials, the semi-truck driver, whose identity was withheld from the public, is assisting with the inquiry.
