The man who killed a man in Fairview was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies on Thursday.
According to a statement from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, Portland resident Deming R. Oakleaf, 31, was charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a handgun in connection with the death of 38-year-old Roman Shulishov close to his Fairview home.
Shulishov was discovered dead around 2:30 p.m. the next day, according to authorities, after his wife reported him missing on Saturday night.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office declared Shulishov’s death to be a homicide after concluding that he had been shot.
Sheriff’s officers had no information regarding the shooting or if Oakleaf and Shulishov knew one another.
