In Yamhill County, a two-vehicle collision on Oregon Route 99 on Wednesday claimed one life and injured another.
At 9:18 a.m., Oregon State Police arrived at the scene of the collision close to milepost 30. According to the preliminary investigation, 28-year-old Stephen Jerrold Miller of Woodland, Washington, tried to turn onto Highway 18 while traveling south in a Chevrolet Silverado.
Miller collided with Christine Da Ai Yoon, 31, of McMinnville, who was driving a northbound Toyota Yaris. Yoon was killed at the scene of the crash.
Miller was sent to a nearby hospital after sustaining minor wounds.
It took little over two hours to close the highway. The cause of the collision is still being looked into.
