No. 12 Oregon baseball takes series finale with Toledo

In the series finale against Toledo, Oregon established an early lead that was unbeatable.

Maddox Molony led the No. 12 Ducks to a 6-1 victory over the Rockets on Sunday afternoon at PK Park, going 3 for 4 with two doubles and a home run.

To put UO on the board, Jacob Walsh grounded in a run in the first. It was 4-0 through two when Mason Nevile doubled, Carter Garate delivered a two-out RBI single, and Ryan Cooney drove in another.

A wild pitch in the third gave the Rockets the lead, but they would only score three more runs the rest of the game.

In a no-decision, Will Sanford struck out six batters in 4.0 innings while giving up one run on two hits and three walks. Oregon won thanks to two perfect innings of relief pitched by Kellan Knox.

In his UO debut, Santiago Garcia gave up two singles and one walk in 2.0 innings pitched, while Cole Stokes hit a batter in the ninth and struck out two.
