No. 7 Oregon State baseball vs. Minnesota: Preview, starting lineup, how to watch

In a college baseball game on Sunday, the No. 7 Oregon State Beavers take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas.

Ten a.m. is the scheduled time for the first pitch.

In the Round Rock Classic, a round robin competition with three teams, including No. 2 Virginia and Oklahoma, it’s the Beavers’ final.

Oregon State needs a victory on Sunday to salvage the weekend after losing to the Sooners after starting with a convincing victory over the Cavaliers.

Ethan Kleinschmit, a 6-foot-3 transfer from Linn-Benton Community College, is starting for the Beavers for the second time in his career. His debut was noteworthy. In a victory over Indiana, Kleinschmit pitched six innings without allowing any hits.

Beavers supporters will recognize Justin Thorsteinson as Minnesota’s starter. Between 2021 and 2023, the 6-4 left-hander threw in 19 games for OSU, starting four of them and finishing with a 1-0 record.

AJ Singer, the ninth hitter, enters Sunday with a.350 batting average and a five-game hitting streak. In the defeat to Oklahoma, he singled two runs and went 1 for 4. With nine RBIs to start the day, the transfer second baseman is one run behind team leader Jacob Krieg (10). … In two games, the Beavers have a.179 batting average (5 for 28), demonstrating their difficulty with runners in scoring position at Round Rock. In Saturday’s loss, OSU only managed to go 2 for 11 with runners in scoring position. … This season, the Golden Gophers have dropped three of their five games by a total margin of six runs. They have already lost to Virginia 4-2 at Round Rock and to Oklahoma 3-2. The Beavers are on the seventh game of a 10-game journey that begins the season.
