The season opener between the No. 7 Oregon State Beavers and the Xavier Musketeers takes place at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Arizona, on Friday.
The Beavers prevailed.
The Beavers have a new closer, a new pitching rotation, and a ton of new players in the lineup going into the 2025 season, but their expectations are still extremely high.
They are a generous top 10 squad that includes five players on MLB.com’s top 100 MLB draft prospects list, two players on the Golden Spikes Award watch list, and several All-America possibilities.
However, a demanding, road-heavy schedule that includes 11 games at neutral-site venues over the first 17 days of the season will put OSU to the test early. March 7 is when the Beavers play their first home game.
