According to authorities, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in North Portland on Thursday night.
According to a statement from the Portland Police Bureau, the collision occurred at approximately 10:39 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5 close to its intersection with Marine Drive.
According to authorities, the car’s driver was brought to a local hospital with injuries, and the pedestrian was discovered dead at the site. The pedestrian and the driver were not officially identified by the police.
According to authorities, I-5 was stopped to all southbound traffic for a number of hours as they looked into the collision.
This is Portland’s fourth traffic-related death of 2025.
