Portland weekend weather: Rainy, windy and warm

The Portland area is going to have an amazing weekend.

Beginning late Friday evening, rain and wind are being brought to the Pacific Northwest by an atmospheric river of moisture. Between 4 a.m. Saturday and 4 a.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service predicts that the Rose City could receive almost 2 inches of precipitation, with some locations along the Oregon Coast potentially receiving up to 4 inches.

The weather service predicts that Saturday will begin with a risk of showers before turning into rain, most likely after 2:00 p.m. About 58 will be the high. There is a chance of up to 1/4 inch of rain and 24 mph wind gusts.

Overnight, another 3/4 inch of rain is predicted.

On Sunday, there could be up to two inches of further precipitation. About 58 will be the high. There will be wind gusting up to 29 mph.

There may be some sun coming, but the workweek will begin with more rain and highs in the upper 50s. The peak temperature for Wednesday is predicted to be approximately 63 degrees and largely sunny.
