At a recent town hall meeting in Hillsboro, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden was asked by a woman, “Why are the Democrats so against Elon Musk finding millions and millions of our taxpayer dollars?” As political unrest simmers in D.C., Senator Wyden speaks at a crowded town hall in Hillsboro on February 16.
According to the news report, Wyden said that while he wasn’t opposed to identifying unnecessary congressional expenditure, Congress, not political appointees, should be in charge of the federal budget.
That might or might not be the case, but for years, Sen. Wyden, the rest of Congress, and a number of previous presidents have discussed and done nothing to curb government waste and fraud. I support giving Elon Musk additional authority because Wyden and the rest of Congress are powerless to take any action.
The people who are opposing Musk and making up excuses for why he shouldn’t be acting in this way are exposing their true selves. They have no interest in reducing government fraud and waste.
Elon, go!
