Region schools delayed due to downed power lines, poor road conditions Tuesday

Trees, power wires, and other debris were brought down by Monday’s wind and rain, which will allow some local students to sleep in a little later on Tuesday.

Due to power outages, a number of regional schools have postponed their openings or modified bus service on roads that have not been cleared of debris since Monday’s storm.

Clackamas County’s Colton schools have declared that certain bus lines will not operate.

Because of mudslides on nearby roadways, Clatskanie schools will open two hours later than scheduled.

A number of Coast Range schools, including Jewel and Knappa, have postponed their openings due to power outages or bad driving conditions.
