According to an NBA source who spoke to The Oregonian/OregonLive, Portland Trail Blazers backup big Robert Williams III will miss the rest of the team’s seven-game trip.
Williams will be reassessed when the team returns on March 8 after returning to Portland to recover from a left knee sprain.
Including the first two games of this current trip, which started Monday night with a 114–112 victory against the Utah Jazz, Williams has missed three straight games.
The Blazers (26-33) defeated the Washington Wizards 129-121 on Wednesday night and will visit the Brooklyn Nets on Friday.
Deandre Ayton, the starting center for the Blazers, is anticipated to miss two more weeks due to a calf issue. Forward Jabari Walker has been playing backup center while rookie center Donovan Clingan has been starting in Ayton’s place.
