Workplace chat platform Slack suffers service outage

Slack, a platform for workplace communications, went down Wednesday morning after thousands of customers complained they couldn’t access the site.

The San Francisco-based software firm said it was looking into complaints of issues loading or connecting to Slack. Slack reported on its website that it had identified a number of API endpoints that were affecting the sending and receiving of messages as well as the loading of some threads.

According to the website DownDetector, over 3,000 users reported being unable to access the platform during the height of the outage. By mid-morning Wednesday, several services, such as emoticon reactions and group and direct messaging, seemed to be returning online.
